The fact that Ricki Hostutler films are not like the national average of cinematography in America is no longer surprising. People like to be surprised. You'll experience surprises in Deviant. I sat for a long time after I ended watching Deviant, reflecting on my life. I was afraid that knowledge of the plot would in some way take away the joy of watching, but it did not happen. Rich dialogues, which are the essence of this film, arouse respect, especially in the context of today's production. The story can be interpreted in many ways, I think the Deviant is even too short.
